We have successfully obtained prior approval on behalf of our client for the demolition of a former workshop and the erection of a dwelling in its place.
Our client had a redundant workshop building (previously in B1 use) and wanted to replace it with a dwelling. The workshop was originally an agricultural building but it had planning permission to change to a B1 use, along with another building immediately adjacent. While the physical works for the other building were complete, the subject building only changed use.

Following a positive pre-application response, Artisan submitted an application under Class ZA (of Part 20) permitted development rights. This week, the Council has granted prior approval for a replacement dwelling. Our client is now able to build a 4-bed detached dwelling, unlocking the site’s potential.
