The former Volvo Dealership site at 111-113 Brighton Road in Croydon closed over two years ago and the site has been screened off with hoarding although the buildings are still in active use. During that time, the site owners, Cambria Property Investment Ltd, have been investigating prospects for its redevelopment but have concluded that a comprehensive residential scheme works best and that a new building, will result in a significant improvement to the character and appearance of the area as well as delivering much needed homes.
The Proposed Development
The CGI images below show how the site could look post its redevelopment. However, the local community’s input to the redevelopment is key and hence we are asking for your views and inviting you to comment on a proposal for a residential development of 29 apartments arranged on 3-5 floors.
The scheme contains:
- A mix of 1, 2 and 3-bedroom apartments
- Energy efficient apartments (PV cells and Air Source Heat Pumps)
- Private gardens and landscaped communal amenity space
- A car free development but with blue badge car parking spaces
- Extensive cycle storage for residents
Planning Application now Submitted
A planning application has now been submitted to Croydon Council for the above-described development. Once the application has been validated, we will provide a link to the application page on the Council’s website where you will be able to view and download the application documents. You will also be able to submit any comments you may have on the proposed development directly to the Council.
